Conscious Universe
Editorial illustration for Noema magazine article about the archaic vision of the universe as one big functioning organism, where humans, plants, animals, elements and minerals are all interconnected and infused with the same higher consciousness. Bringing sustainability into the conversation, the article argues that if we embraced the conscious universe philosophy, our respect and empathy towards the planet would increase, as we would perceive it as a conscious being just like us, an organism that we are intrinsically part of.

My illustration showcases this theme with a semi-abstract approach, featuring animals, plants, flowers, stars and human features harmoniously tangled together, connected by swirls of energy and overlapping colourful shapes.
